Endurance Athletes

Author: scattered brain (Who am I?)  /  Category: Self Improvement, Sports and Fitness

Endurance training and racing requires quite a commitment from athletes … the commitment is for time and money … they put up with pain, they eat for the event and buy supplements that cost a bundle … their equipment is specialized to their events (shoes, high performance clothing, bikes, skis, wet suit, heart monitor, exercise equipment, etc., etc.) Some of the athletes are in the professional ranks, but most are age-groupers. Why do the age-groupers do it?

Release All Your Anxiety and Fears

Lester Levenson’s Amazing Story

“I was born July 19, 1909 in Elizabeth, New Jersey into a middle class family as a very shy person. I tried to do things the way they were supposed to be done — doing the right thing, getting a good education, and being the best in my field. My natural inclination was towards science. Especially the science of the world, and of man himself. I graduated from Rutgers University in 1931 as a physicist, after which I worked 20 some years in physics and engineering.

“I also went into various businesses, including restaurants, lumber, building and oil, intertwined with engineering, wanting to make money– wanting to make it in the world. At that time, I did not know what I now know — that what I was seeking was actually the answers to life itself. And nothing that I had worked at would give me that answer. As the years went by, I became heavy with depression and with sickness. By 1952, I had been through constant illness — I even had jaundice three or so times a year. I had an enlarged liver, kidney stones, spleen trouble, hyper and hypos acidity, ulcers that perforated and formed lesions, and to top it off, I had at least 10 years of migraine headaches.

Coping Up with Haircut Fear

Author: User Imagescattered brain (Who am I?)  /  Category: Personal, Self Improvement

My 2 kids and I went to Kid’s Hair Salon at SM Southmall. Finally, my 3-year-old son Anton had his second haircut. I convinced him to have a haircut without being too pushy on him. We’ll OK, I must admit I threatened him: “no haircut, no birthday party“. LOL! Like as if we, err… I can do that! Hehehe.. I just tried to see if it  will work. It did… So I put him right away in a car seat (kid’s hair salon chair) and requested the cashier to play his favorite Lighting McQueen DVD. I was really surprised coz I didn’t expect he’ll behaved and he didn’t put up a fight when the barber started to cut his hair.

I remember his 1st haircut experience, we were struggling because he needed to be sat on my lap and held  tight because he was so scared and kept fidgeting and balking that I was afraid he’ll get cut and hurt. It must have been horrifying for him because he adamantly refused to get another haircut after that. For almost a year in fact.

Well, its really a great relief to all that its done and over with… until the next haircut? I hope not…

The Tyra Banks ShowImage via Wikipedia

People suffering from obesity are very overweight and at risk for serious diseases. Obesity tends to run in families. Children of overweight parents have about 80 to 90% chances of ending up overweight themselves. Is there anything we can do to stop this from happening?

I have watched The Tyra Banks Show, the topic was all about people who are suffering obesity or overweight. It was eye opening and inspiring.. It doesn’t matter how big you are, oversize, or overweight whatever you may call it, don’t lose hope.. Don’t forget, there is always a way to regain your lost self-confidence. It may take a lot of courage and motivation to do it.. and you may need support from your loved ones.

Online University Degree

Author: User Imagescattered brain (Who am I?)  /  Category: Education, Self Improvement

I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree major in Business Management. I have been thinking of getting master’s degree in an online university because I want to gain more knowledge in business or any related courses. As a work at home mom, an online master’s degree program can give me the flexibility to continue my education sitting in front of my computer while doing my job at the same time. I found Capella University, a fully accredited online university that offers learning to the highest level. They provide online university degree, like PhD or PsyD, EdS, Master’s, MBA, Bachelor’s and they also have programs for Professionals like Business Management, Health care administration, Higher Education, IT, K-12, Mental health and public safety.

So after reading about Capella University, I might consider adding this to my list for reference when I decide to get my master’s degree in Business Management.

Tutorial Class

Author: User Imagescattered brain (Who am I?)  /  Category: Personal, Self Improvement

To some a Diploma is just a piece of paper, not a good measure of a person’s intelligence. All it says that you passed a course or put in another way, you’ve got just a degree tucked under belt. But does having a diploma guarantee you’ll be successful in life?? A person’s “SMART” – how make use of your ability to achieve your goals, is your ticket to success. Throw in determination, passion and hard work and you’re on your way.

I am undergrad of the College of Business Management, major in Entrepreneurship, of the UPHR with just two subjects to go, namely Marketing Management and Business Policy & Strategic Planning, before I graduate.
